Orange Hairspray for fine hair.....

  • 1 Orange
  • 2 C Water
  • 2 oz. Bay rum
  • bowl, double boiler pot
Quantity: Makes about 1 to 1 1/2 cups of Orange Hair Spray.
To Make: Chop up an orange in a wooden bowl so that you don't lose any of the juice. Add the chopped Orange to the water in the top of a double boiler. Simmer the mixture until the liquid has been reduced by half. Strain through cheesecloth or fine cloth and pour the liquid into a bottle that will fit a pump-type sprayer. A washed and rinsed old hair spray bottle will work. Add 2 oz of Bay rum to the mixture, shake bottle well.

To Use: Spray your hair with this mixture whenever necessary.
Should be made fresh every few days and kept in the fridge between uses.

*If mist is too sticky, thin it out with another 1/2 cup of water. With all natural DIY projects, it takes a couple times to get it right, like with anything, practice makes perfect. You can also use lemons as a substitute, but it may lighten your hair if your exposed to alot of sunlight.  Don't hesitate to add to this recipe, essential oil of your preference, but make sure you research the oil for it's properties and uses.
