"What a great idea..then just plant the entire thing in the ground/pot the egg will break down eventually and also help feed your plant." You just save the shells, trying to crack the top only, and place them in the carton, acting as your planter holder.
My daughters and I are already saving our egg shells and have decided to plant beets, lettuce, carrots, and cucumbers in the saved shells! We will update with our documented progress...
